Study in Malaysia

Why Bangladeshi Students Choose Malaysia for Higher Studies?

Bangladeshi students choose Malaysia for its affordable, English-medium education, globally recognised universities, and low cost of living compared to Western destinations. The country's Muslim-majority, multicultural society makes it a comfortable and welcoming environment for Bangladeshi students and their families.

Additionally, Malaysia offers a fast, simple visa process, twinning degree programmes with top UK/Australian universities, and a growing post-study Graduate Pass and job market — making it a smart, budget-friendly stepping stone to a global career.

Part-time Work Options for
International Students in Malaysia

With a Malaysian student pass, international students can work part-time up to 20 hours per week — but only during semester breaks or holidays longer than seven days, not during regular term time. Work is limited to approved sectors (restaurants, mini-markets, hotels, petrol kiosks) and requires prior approval from the university/institution and immigration authorities before starting.

Post-Study Work Options in Malaysia

Eligible graduates (currently limited to a specific list of nationalities under EMGS's Graduate Pass scheme) can stay in Malaysia for up to 12 months after graduation to job-search, travel, or work part-time. For students outside this eligible list — including most Bangladeshi graduates at present — the standard route is to secure a job offer and move directly to an Employment Pass, Malaysia's main work visa for skilled foreign professionals, arranged by the hiring employer.
